10 Years of CHAUSSEE 36 – Recap
The RETROVISION exhibition, celebrating 10 years of CHAUSSEE 36 Photography, has come to an end. To mark the anniversary, we curated a special program exploring the core societal themes that have shaped CHAUSSEE 36 over the past decade: European democratic values, gender equality, eroticism, and sustainability.
The program began on September 14th with a guided walk through Chausseestraße led by historian Holger Schmale, who traced the street’s transformation across five societal systems from the 19th century to today.
On September 27th, founder Renaud De Gambs welcomed visitors for an exclusive tour of CHAUSSEE 36, sharing insights into the building’s history and its sustainability-focused restoration.
Further highlights included an analog photography workshop for professionals led by Björn Albert on November 22nd, and a lecture by Natalia Carstens, Chairwoman of the Female Photoclub, on November 29th, focusing on the visibility and role of FLINTA* individuals in photography.
The anniversary program concluded on December 4th with a Get Together featuring exhibiting artists Daniela Torres, Catherine Lieser, and Eva Stenram, who discussed eroticism and desire in photography following an introduction by curator Mathilde Leroy.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this anniversary truly memorable!
