Architectural photography with the large format camera – A Practical Workshop with Björn Albert
High-quality architectural photography requires the use of a large-format camera, a camera on the optical bench. Be it analog or digital.
What are the possibilities offered by this type of photography and how are they used in practice?
Content of the workshop:
How the camera works on the optical bench. Practical applications regarding a Sinar P2, sample images and guided use by the participants. This takes place in advance of the images to be taken by the participants and on location. We will work on b/w cut film 4x5'' with your own camera or an provided Sinar P2.
Adjustments of the standards (tilt/shift/scheimplug) and their use. Lenses/image circles. What is perspective and how to use it professionally. Possibilities that offer far more than just the correction of converging lines.
For photographers who want to master the use of the large-format camera and fully exploit the possibilities of their own camera.
If available, feel free bring your own large format camera with at least one lens. Cut film cartridges and films will be provided.

Björn Albert draws on decades of photographic experience in the analog and digital field. He has been working with the large format camera since the early 1990s and digitally since 2008. Current challenges that have arisen in the areas of architecture, product and other are incorporated into the workshop. Björn Albert runs the BA AP analog specialist laboratory at Chausseestraße 36 Berlin.

Architekturfotografie in hoher Qualität setzt die Verwendung einer Großformatkamera voraus, einer Kamera auf der optischen Bank. Sei es analog oder digital.
Was sind die Möglichkeiten die diese Art der Fotografie bietet und wie werden diese konkret praktisch eingesetzt?
Inhalt des Workshops:
Funktionsweisen der Kamera auf der optischen Bank. Praktische Anwendungen anhand einer Sinar P2, Beispielbildern und angeleitetem Gebrauch durch die TeilnehmerInnen. Dies erfolgt sowohl bevor die TeilnehmerInnen Aufnahmen erstellen als auch on location. Gearbeitet wird auf s/w Planfilm 4x5'' mit der eigenen Kamera oder einer bereitgestellten Sinar P2.
Verstellungen der Standarten (Tilt/Shift/Scheimpflug) und deren Verwendung. Objektive/Bildkreise. Was ist Perspektive und wie wird sie professionell eingesetzt. Möglichkeiten die weit mehr bieten als nur die Korrektur stürzender Linien.
Für FotografInnen die den Umgang mit der Großformatkamera sicher beherrschen wollen und die Möglichkeiten ihrer eigenen Kamera voll ausschöpfen möchten.
Wenn vorhanden gerne die eigene Großformatkamera mit mindestens einem Objektiv mitbringen.
Planfilmkassetten und Filme werden gestellt.
