ENCHANTING COLOUR explores the possibilities of colour photography from the 1940s to today, bringing together works from the Collection De Gambs with the contemporary practice of Berlin-based artist Marta Djourina.

Featuring Nobuyoshi Araki, Erwin Blumenfeld, Marta Djourina, Harold Edgerton, René Groebli, Sarah Moon, Norman Parkinson, and Thomas Ruff, the exhibition traces how photographers have used colour as an artistic medium beyond the representation of reality.

At its centre is Marta Djourina’s camera-less practice, in which light and colour create abstract photographic compositions that enter into dialogue with historical works from the Collection De Gambs.
