Europe Under Construction

70 years after the end of World War II and 25 years after the German reunification, it becomes increasingly important to preserve a memory of the turbulent past to understand the present Europe. We will commemorate the past 70 years of peace and European unification with a unique photographic exhibition on the development of Berlin. The works of more than 30 photographers from Germany to France, the United States, Great Britain, Russia will be displayed from 2nd October 2015 until 31st March 2016. The exhibition venue in Chausseestraße 36 is a former residence of Prussian army officers. The art works will be shown across 500sqm – from the bomb shelter to the restored Bel-Etage. Both the photographs and the venue offer a timetravel. The exhibition illustrates the development of Berlin from different perspectives: architecture, culture, economics, politics. The works not only capture the historical events but also allow the visitor to explore different facets of life in Berlin over the past 70 years and inspire to reflect on the European future.

Europe Under Construction: Berlin 1945-2015 takes place under the patronage of Max von Bismarck. Several photography lovers are behind the exhibition and support it with works from their own collections.
